HAPPY NEW YEAR!

In the capital of Sweden, Stockholm, there is a “secret” tourist attraction. The smallest sculpture of the city, and a lucky one too. Järnpojke or in English, the ‘Iron Boy’. This iron sculpture found behind a Finnish church, is that of a little boy looking at the moon. This sculpture is called a “secret tourist attraction” because it is way inside a narrow street of Gamla Stan or the Old Town, and not very easy to find.

It is said to be a lucky charm, and it brings you luck if you caress the boy’s head. People also contribute a little something (as you will see), which usually goes to the Finnish church. But, the boy gets other gifts too. E.g. During winters, you see him wrapped in a woollen scarf and cap 🙂

So, if you’re in Stockholm, do pay the boy a visit. You never know, you might get extra lucky this coming year 😉
