After checking out the Alber Cuyp Market (Blogged in Day 4 – Albert Cuyp Market), we headed towards the national museum of Amsterdam, the Rijksmuseum. This museum covers the art and the history of Amsterdam.

It is just a 15 minute walk from the Albert Cuyp Market, and also the reason we decided to cover this in the same day. We did not enter the museum as we reached quite late and it was about to shut. It is open all seven days of the week from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. So better be there on time if you want a proper tour of the museum. But this is what it looks like from the outside. The architecture, without a doubt, is very elegant..

The Rijksmuseum.

Nevertheless, the main attraction for us was the I amsterdam sign. This is a moving sign, and is currently placed right behind the Rijksmuseum. Very popular! Very trendy! Everybody visiting Amsterdam wants a picture in front of this sign to let the world know they were there. Well, we were one of the “everybody” too 😛 .. So, voila!
